Governance Meeting (Accounting Practices)
Purpose
- To set and agree on financial and non-financial performance targets for the practice. Including benchmarking KPIs
- To review the performance of the practice each meeting
- To have an independent sounding board who is willing to “talk straight”
- Discuss any issues arising with the governance coach
- Monitor progress of change processes
Process
Meet face to face usually once a month with unlimited telephone support. First session will be used to clarify the objectives of the client from the governance meetings. Often the governance meetings will be running parallel to change process that have already commenced in the practice. Accordingly, the governance meeting are an opportunity to review the progress of change processes such as performance packaging.

- Meet the client objectives from the governance meetings
- Improved financial performance of the practice
- Greater capacity of the principal or partners to lead the practice
