Accounting Practice - Partnership
Some background:
- Two partner practice
- 15 staff
- One partner more of a leader. Practice very dependant on this one partner to grow.
The issue:
- Enpowering two senior managers to become business leaders and not just the “doers”
- Growing the practice beyond the abilities and capability of the one partner
Process:
- Review and re engineer client service offering using Performance Package process
- Both partners and senior staff involved
- Dealt with challenges and resistance as they came up
- When client service offering had been re-engineered then inducted all staff to have it integrated into the culture.
The results:
- Ownership of what the practice delivers
- Belief in the value that the practice delivers
- Senior managers start selling services (a first!)
- Fees increase beyond the capacity of the partners. True succession starting to happen.
The learning's:
- When staff start believing rather than just belonging then you get a real change in the business
- It all starts with the senior managers willing to do something different and being willing to let go
- Courage goes a long way to business success.
What they say:
“Henrys work started off on the challenging path of re-engineering our practice”.
